DAB Pumps + Yacht Club Vicenza = Love of Water

In its 35-year history, DAB and its electric water pumps have earned the trust of customers all over the world, from Asia to the United States, from Northern Europe to South Africa.

DAB Pumps is also especially proud of the ties it has been able to forge and cement over the years with the land where it has its roots and where it all began: the Veneto region, starting from the town of Mestrino where the company has its headquarters, to the city of Vicenza with its territory, and the important production centers in Brendola and San Germano dei Berici.

Our deep knowledge of the water movement industry has naturally drawn us to support and sponsor the Vicenza Yacht Club, an amateur sports organization. The love of water and our land of birth have made for a happy marriage between DAB and the Vicenza Yacht Club’s activities. In fact, in addition to several important Upper Adriatic yacht races in which the Club competes, such as the Colonne and Barcolana races, and the Lignano, Chiog- gia and Caorle championship events, the Vicenza Yacht Club is also dedicated to teaching about the world of boat sailing. To this end, it organizes sailing courses for children and adults and informational evenings about the sea, meteorology, boats and coastlines. It also lends its know-how and its boats, on a non-profit basis, to help foster a love of sailing.

In the firm belief that in the growth of all human beings -- children in particular – learning about the water and the sea has a special place, as well as learning to respect the elements and the environment, and practicing ethics in sports, DAB Pumps has decided to contribute to support the activity of the Vicenza Yacht Club. It is not a coincidence therefore that both DAB Pumps and the Yacht Club worked together, the first as sponsor and the latter as organizer, on the 2010 edition of the Pigafetta Cup established in 2008 by the Vicenza nautical clubs.

This year, the award ceremony will be held on May 7th at the “A. Rossi” Technical School, in Vicenza, where the winner, a well-known navigator and explorer, will be announced and feted.

In conclusion, DAB is proud to contribute to the meritorious initiatives of the Club, helping it to keep its classes open to all, by helping defray the expenses, wi- thout seeking a profit on what its members, DAB included, have in common: a great love of water and of the sea.
