PLC, Powerline

Glossary content

PLC is an acronym that stands for "Powerline Communication" a data transmission technology through the electricity network, rectified by the IEEE, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 2011. It is the technology used from electricity meters to communicate consumption data. The PLC technology lets two devices communicate between them, just connect them to the power socket. The transmission is optimal only on single-phase systems and between devices connected under the same meter, without differential or magnetothermal switches between them.
