After connecting the pump to the mains, the pump motor is switched off and the non-return valve is at rest: if this is not the case, the pump stops and the motor will never start.

In the normal case, however, the pump behaves as follows:

• If the hydraulic circuit upstream from the pump has a pressure higher than CUT-IN, the pump motor does not start, the priming is finished regularly.

• If the circuit is not under pressure (P<CUT-IN), the pump motor is started. In this case:

o If the hydraulic circuit goes under pressure (P>CUT-IN) and there is no flow, for example because the delivery tap is closed, the motor is switched off 10 seconds after starting: the pump is primed.

o If there is no flow or pressure for 20 seconds (P<CUT-IN), the pump goes into DRYRUN alarm and is switched off: the pump is not primed.

o Finally, if there is flow, the pump is primed and runs normally.

If no pressure and flow is detected during normal operation (or during pump start-up) for 20 seconds, the pump will go into DRYRUN alarm and the motor will be switched off.

The pump control electronics will try to restart the pump until the dry running condition, i.e. the absence of flow and pressure, is no longer detected.

These restart attempts will be scheduled as follows:

• From the 1st to the 48th attempt: 1 restart every 30 minutes for 20 seconds each

• From the 49th attempt: 1 restart every 24 hours for 20 seconds each

The DRYRUN alarm can be reset manually: if after this reset the pump still does not detect flow and pressure, attempts will last 20 seconds.

The pump electronics have an anti-burping system that prevents false priming due to possible water bubbles.

Slight hydraulic leaks in the system downstream from the pump, when the system is under pressure and without flow, can lead to a gradual drop in pressure. This will cause the pump to start up periodically, causing damage to the motor, especially when starting at a short distance.

In this case, the electronics recognise the condition and activate the ANTICYCLING alarm. The alarm will prevent the pump motor from starting. The alarm can be removed manually. The alarm will still be removed automatically after 12 hours.

Tali tentativi di riavvio sono così programmati:

• Dal 1° al 48° tentativo: 1 riavvio ogni 30 minuti per 20 secondi ciascuno

• Dal 49° tentativo: 1 riavvio ogni 24 ore per 20 secondi ciascuno

L’allarme DRYRUN può essere resettato manualmente: se in seguito a tale reset la pompa non rivelasse ancora flusso e pressione, i tentativi dureranno 20 secondi.

L’elettronica della pompa presenta un sistema, detto di anti-burping, che evita i falsi adescamenti legati a possibili gorgoglii dell’acqua.

Eventuali lievi perdite idrauliche nell’impianto a valle della pompa, quando l’impianto è in pressione e senza flusso, possono portare ad un calo graduale della pressione. Ciò porterà la pompa ad una ciclicità periodica nell’accensione, provocando danni al motore, soprattutto in caso di accensioni a breve distanza.

In questo caso l’elettronica riconosce la condizione e attiva l’allarme ANTICYCLING. L’allarme impedirà al motore della pompa di accendersi. L’allarme può essere rimosso manualmente. L’allarme verrà comunque rimosso automaticamente dopo 12 ore.

In the case of the DTRON3 model, after having connected the COM BOX to the power mains, all the LEDs of the interface are on to allow the user to verify its operation.

The DTRON 3 pump can work in “Auto” mode (default) or in “MANUAL MODE”.

“Manual Mode”

The user may require the pump motor to be switched on constantly. Attention: as in the case of pumps without electronics, any control and protection (Anti DRY RUN, Anti Cycling etc.) is excluded and the pump can only be stopped by pressing buttons 1 and 2 at the same time.

Forced motor shutdown

The user can force the motor to be shut down, which in any case prevents the motor from starting.

The shutdown described here is also effective if starting is set to "Manual" mode.

“Auto mode”

In this mode, the pump power supply is supplied to the motor according to the evolution of the user's requirements and the hydraulic conditions of the system.

Dopo aver connesso il COM BOX alla rete elettrica tutti i led dell’interfaccia vengono accesi per consentire all’ utente di verificarne il funzionamento.

La pompa DTRON 3 può funzionare in modalità “Auto” (default) o in modalità “MANUAL MODE”.

“Manual mode”

L’utente può imporre l’accensione costante nel tempo del motore della pompa. Attenzione: come nelle pompe senza elettronica viene quindi escluso qualunque controllo e protezione (Anti Dry Run, Anti Cycling etc..) e la pompa può essere fermata solo con la contemporanea pressione dei tasti 1 e 2

Spegnimento forzato motore

L’utente può imporre lo spegnimento forzato del motore, che impedisce in ogni caso al motore di accendersi.

Lo spegnimento qui descritto ha effetto anche in presenza di una eventuale accensione impostata nella modalità “Manuale”.

“Modalità Auto”

L’alimentazione della pompa viene, in questa modalità, erogata al motore in base all’evoluzione delle richieste dell’utente e delle condizioni idrauliche dell’impianto.

The pump and the DCONNECT BOX 2, if present, must be connected to the same power mains, avoiding their being galvanically separated, as for example due to the presence of open isolation transformers or switches, even single-phase ones.

In particular condominium or industrial contexts, where single-phase users can be connected to different phases of the three-phase distribution provided by the public operator, the DCONNECT BOX 2 and the pump might not be able to communicate.

After having correctly connected the hydraulic and electrical part, it is sufficient to supply power and the system is ready to work.

The pump can be controlled and set through the appropriate app, installed on a smartphone or tablet.

The app can be downloaded from https://internetofpumps.com/ or from the major stores.

To enable the app to interact with the pump, the DCONNECT BOX 2 must be correctly installed and powered. The LEDs on the DCONNECT BOX 2 monitor the connection status with the pump and the app.

In the case of dry running the pump is stopped automatically after the time TB.

After having restored the correct flow of water you can try to leave the protective block manually by sending the Error Reset command. If the alarm status remains, or if the user does not intervene by restoring the flow of water and resetting the pump, the automatic restart will try to restart the pump.

If there are leaks in the delivery section of the plant, the system starts and stops cyclically even if no water is intentionally being drawn: even just a slight leak (a few ml) can cause a fall in pressure which in turn starts the electropump.

The electronic control of the system is able to detect the presence of the leak, based on its recurrence. The Anti-Cycling function can be excluded or activated in Basic or Smart mode.

In Basic mode, once the condition of recurrence is detected the pump stops and remains waiting to be manually reset.

This condition is communicated to the user with the "ANTICYCLING” message. After the leak has been removed, you can manually force restart by sending the Error Reset command.

In Smart mode, once the leak condition is detected, the parameter RP is automatically increased to decrease the number of starts over time.

The change of state of water from liquid to solid involves an increase in volume. It is therefore essential to ensure that the system does not remain full of water with temperatures close to freezing point, to avoid breakages of the system. This is the reason why it is recommended to empty any electropump that is going to remain unused during the winter. However, this system has a protection that prevents ice formation inside by activating the electropump when the temperature falls to values close to freezing point. In this way the water inside is heated and freezing prevented.

The Anti-Freeze protection works only if the system is regularly fed: with the plug disconnected or in the absence of current the protection cannot work.

However, it is advised not to leave the system full during long peri- ods of inactivity: drain the system accurately through the drainage cap and put it away in a sheltered place.

La pompa e il DCONNECT BOX 2, se presente, vanno collegate alla stessa rete elettrica, evitando ovvero che siano galvanicamente separate, come ad esempio a causa della presenza di trasformatori di isolamento o interruttori, anche monofase, aperti.

In particolari contesti condominiali o industriali, in cui le utenze monofase possono essere collegate a fasi diverse della distribuzione trifase erogata dal gestore pubblico, DCONNECT BOX 2 e la pompa potrebbero non riuscire a comunicare.

Dopo aver connesso correttamente la parte idraulica ed elettrica è sufficiente fornire alimentazione ed il sistema è pronto a funzionare.

La pompa può essere controllata ed impostata attraverso l’apposita app, installata su uno smartphone o tablet.

La app può essere scaricata dal sito https://internetofpumps.com/ o dai principali store.

Affinché l’app possa interagire con la pompa è necessario aver correttamente installato ed alimentato il DCONNECT BOX 2. I led presenti sul DCONNECT BOX 2 monitorano lo stato di connessione con la pompa e la app.

“BL” Anti Dry-Run (Protezione contro la marcia a secco)

Nella situazione di marcia a secco la pompa viene arrestata automaticamente dopo il tempo TB.

Dopo aver ripristinato il corretto afflusso di acqua si può tentare di uscire manualmente dal blocco di protezione inviando il comando Reset Errori. Se permane lo stato di allarme, ovvero l’utente non interviene ripristinando l’afflusso d’acqua e resettando la pompa, il re-start automatico prova a riavviare la pompa.

Se nella sezione di mandata dell’impianto sono presenti perdite, il sistema si avvia e si arresta ciclicamente anche se non si sta prelevando acqua consapevolmente: una pur piccola perdita (pochi ml) provoca una caduta di pressione che a sua volta provoca l’avviamento dell’elettropompa.

Il controllo elettronico del sistema è in grado di rilevare la presenza della perdita sulla base della sua periodicità. La funzione anticycling può essere esclusa oppure attivata in modalità Basic o Smart.

La modalità Basic prevede che una volta rilevata la condizione di periodicità, la pompa si arresti e rimanga in attesa di un ripristino manuale. Questa condizione viene comunicata all’utente con il messaggio “ANTICYCLING”. Dopo aver rimosso la perdita, si può forzare manualmente la ripartenza inviando il comando Reset Errori.

La modalità Smart prevede che una volta rilevata la condizione di perdita, si aumenti automaticamente il parametro RP per diminuire il numero di accensioni nel tempo.

Anti-Freeze (Protezione contro congelamento dell’acqua nel sistema)

Il cambiamento di stato dell’acqua da liquido a solido comporta un aumento di volume. Occorre quindi evitare che il sistema rimanga pieno d’acqua con temperature prossime a quelle di congelamento al fine di evitare rotture dello stesso. Questa la ragione per la quale si raccomanda di svuotare una qualsiasi elettropompa quando rimane inutilizzata durante il periodo invernale.

Tuttavia questo sistema è dotato di una protezione che impedisce il formarsi di ghiaccio all’interno azionando l’elettropompa nel caso in cui la temperatura scenda a valori prossimi a quelli di congelamento. In questo modo l’acqua all’interno viene scaldata ed il congelamento inibito.

La protezione Anti-Freeze funziona solamente se il sistema è regolarmente alimentato: con spina disconnessa o mancanza di corrente la protezione non può funzionare.

E’ comunque consigliabile non lasciare il sistema carico durante lunghi periodi di inattività: svuotare accuratamente il sistema dal tappo di scarico e riporlo in luogo riparato.
