Screw first the non-return valve and then the nipple using the connector ideal for ¾’’ and 1’’ pipes provided in the packaging. If a pipe with greater diameter is to be used, change the connector. Use a pipe tightening clamp to secure the pipe to the fitting. It is advisable to use pipes having a minimum internal diameter of ¾’’ mm, to avoid the decrease of pump performance. To avoid obstruction of the suction passages, it is recommended to check periodically that no dirt has accumulated in the collection cistern (leaves, sand, etc.). It is advisable to leave a minimum distance of 20 cm to avoid clogging of the suction grid. Insert the plug in a socket, main power must be 220-240V. The pump must be activated only if immersed in water. Consider a minimum submersion of 50 cm. If the water is finished the pump must be stopped immediately, taking the plug out of the socket (for the non-automatic version). The pump must be placed in a stable position inside a collection cistern or in the lowest part of the place where it is installed. Ensure that the minimum dimensions of the collection cistern in which it is housed are as follows:

• base dimensions (mm) 450x450 / Min. height (mm) 420
• The dimensions of the cistern must always be in relation to the quantity of water arriving and to the flow of the pump, so as not to subject the motor to excessive starts/hour; it is strongly recommended not to exceed 20 starts/hour.

The float switch automatically controls the pump starting and stopping (ON/OFF) depending on its position (automatic version). The models with a float switch are started automatically when the water level rises and will switch off when the required minimum level is reached.

1) Leave the float free to move.

2) Insert the plug of the power cable in a 220-240V power socket.

3) When the float reaches the ON level the pump will start and will continue operating until it reaches the OFF level.

The best working condition is with the pump be completely submersed in water. Anyway, the motor’s cooling system allows the use at the minimum suction height for very short periods. The pump is equipped with a technopolymer anti-deposit filter.

Avvitare prima la valvola di non ritorno e poi il nipplo con attacco presente nell’imballo, adatto per tubazioni di dimensioni ¾’’ e 1’’. Nel caso si volesse utilizzare una tubazione con diametro superiore, sostituire il raccordo. Utilizzare una fascetta stringitubo per fissare il tubo all’attacco. È consigliabile l’uso di tubazioni aventi diametro interno minimo di ¾’’, per evitare la diminuzione delle prestazioni della pompa. Per evitare l’ostruzione dei passaggi di aspirazione, si consiglia di verificare periodicamente che nella cisterna di raccolta non si sia accumulato sporco (foglie, sabbia, ecc.). È opportuno prevedere una distanza minima di 20 cm dal fondo della pompa al fine di evitare intasamenti alla griglia di aspirazione.

Inserire la spina del cavo di alimentazione in una presa di corrente a 220-240V. La pompa deve essere azionata solo se immersa nell’acqua. Considerare una sommergenza minima di 50 mm. Se l’acqua si esaurisce la pompa dev’essere fermata immediatamente scollegando la presa elettrica (versione non automatica). La pompa deve essere situata in una posizione stabile all’interno di una cisterna di raccolta o comunque nel punto più basso del locale di installazione. Prevedere che la cisterna di raccolta abbia dimensioni minime come valori seguenti:

• Dimensioni base min. (cm) 45x45 / Altezza min. (mm) 420

La cisterna dovrà sempre essere dimensionata anche in relazione alla quantità d’acqua in arrivo ed alla portata della pompa in modo da non sottoporre il motore ad eccessivi avviamenti/ora, è strettamente consigliato non superare i 20 avviamenti/ora.

Hang the pump by passing the rope through the hole provided (see figure 5). Do not hang the pump by the handle. Do not install check valves near the pump delivery (distance less than 1 meter (3.28ft)). The pump already has a built-in check valve on delivery. It is recommended to install a small auxiliary tank (0.5 - 2 liters) that can be ordered as an accessory. If you want to install an additional non return valve it is recommended to position it downstream from the auxiliary tank.

Do not subject the motor to excessive starts per hour. It is strictly recommended not to exceed 20 starts per hour. It is advisable to use pipes having a minimum diameter of 1’’, to avoid the decrease of pump performance. The maximum submersibility of the pump depends on the length of the power cable: 12m (39.4 ft) in the case of a cable 15m (49.2 ft) long.

The pump has an air vent valve. This valve allows the pump to prime in a very short time. If the water level is lower than the valve level, some water may escape from the vent valve.

Install the pump so that the pump suction is at least 1 m (3.28ft) above the bottom of the well to prevent the intake of sand and impurities. Use rigid metal pipes to hang the pump and secure the pipes with brackets at the top of the well.

The minimum dimensions for the pump passage in the collecting tank must be greater than diameter 160 mm (6.7 in). Hold the pump slightly up from the bottom to avoid possible noises/vibrations transmitted to the tank. The pump will make noise if it is placed on the bottom of the tank. To avoid obstruction of the suction passages, it is recommended to check periodically that no dirt has accumulated in the collection trap (leaves, sand, etc.).

After connecting the pump to the mains, the pump motor is switched off and the non-return valve is at rest: if this is not the case, the pump stops, and the motor will never start

In the normal case, however, the pump behaves as follows:

• If the hydraulic circuit upstream from the pump has a pressure higher than CUT-IN, the pump motor does not start, the priming is finished regularly.
• If the circuit is not under pressure (P<CUT-IN), the pump motor is started. In this case,

o If the hydraulic circuit goes under pressure (P>CUT-IN) and there is no flow, for example because the delivery tap is closed, the motor is switched off 10 seconds after starting: the pump is primed.

o If there is no flow or pressure for 20 seconds (P<CUT-IN), the pump goes into DRYRUN alarm and is switched off: the pump is not primed.

o Finally, if there is flow, the pump is primed and runs normally.
