Variable frequency drive
A device that changes the voltage and frequency of the alternating current at the output, allowing also to modify the operating speed of an electric motor (in our case the one in the pumps). This type of function save energy since instead of working at maximum speed the motor can work at variable speeds depending on the workload. An inverter is not indispensable for the operation of the pump.

Si tratta di un dispositivo che varia la tensione e la frequenza della corrente alternata in uscita, permettendo di variare anche la velocità di funzionamento di un motore elettrico (nel nostro caso di quello presente nelle pompe) facendo risparmiare energia ed usura delle stesse poiché invece di funzionare sempre alla massima velocità possono funzionare a velocità variabile in base al carico di lavoro.
Un inverter non è indispensabile per il funzionamento delle pompe.
