We recommend making a good earth connection and placing the electric pump as close as possible to the liquid to be pumped. With this pump it is necessary to install a foot valve on the suction side.

For three-phase motors check the correct direction of rotation of the motor which must be clockwise. Otherwise invert any two phase leads, after having disconnected the pump from the power mains.

In the case of electropumps without a cable, provide power cables type H05 RN-F for internal use and type H07 RN-F for external use, complete with plug (EN 60335-2-41).

The leakage current to earth is max. 3.5 mA. It is recommended to use a type B differential switch. The system must be adequately sized. The pump must be fed by means of an isolation transformer or a differential switch, which must have a differential operating current no higher than 30 mA. When switched on for the first time, the device proposes to perform the WIZARD easy configuration, which guides the user in a fast and easy setting of the most important parameters. It is necessary to perform the WIZARD: the initial system status is that of the factory configuration, and in that the language and the units of measure may not be those used in your country, the weekly clock starts at a random time, and the other parameters may not be suitable for your system.

The Novapond pumps are very easy to install, and they do not require any configuration. In the instruction manual of the Novapond and in our DNA software there is the procedure for using the pump in manual or automatic mode. In the case of operation in automatic mode, the float switch starts and stops the pump automatically. The water level that prompts the starting and stopping of the pump can be adjusted by changing the length of the float cable.
N.B. The length of the float cable must never be shorter than 10 cm.
Manual operation:
a) The floating switch must be lifted in order to start pumps with a float.
b) For pumps without a float, insert the plug.
The voltage and frequency specified on the pump’s nameplate coincide with those of the available power
supply;
•    there are no signs of damage to the pump or its power cord;
•    the electric connection is made in a dry place, protected against any risk of flooding;
•    the electric system is complete with a residual current circuit-breaker (I ∆ ≤ 30 mA) and an efficient earthing connection;

  Prima di avviare la pompa verificate che:
•    Il voltaggio e la frequenza riportati sulla targhetta tecnica della pompa corrispondano ai dati dell’impianto elettrico di alimentazione.
•    Il cavo di alimentazione della pompa o la pompa non siano danneggiati.
•    Il collegamento elettrico deve avvenire in luogo asciutto, al riparo di eventuali allagamenti.
•    L’impianto elettrico sia provvisto di interruttore di protezione salvavita da I ∆ ≤ 30 mA e che l’impianto di terra sia efficiente.
•    Eventuali prolunghe devono essere conformi a quanto disposto dalla normativa DIN VDE 0620.

To enter the installer menu, which allows you to change the operating parameters of the inverter, simultaneously press the "mode" "set" "-" buttons for about 5 seconds, until "installer menu" appears on the display. Before filling the pump through the filling hole you must first partially unscrew the drainage pin/cap (when filling just unscrew it by 3 or 4 turns) without forcing it.

• After having removed the cap, fill the pump slowly through the filling hole so as to discharge any air pockets present inside.
• Before starting the pump, close the filling cap and screw the drainage pin/cap all the way, without forcing it.
• Vent by means of the screw on the part opposite the filling cap
• Fully open the gate valve on intake and keep the one on delivery almost closed.
• Switch on and check that the direction of rotation is correct. If not, invert any two phase leads, after having disconnected the pump from the power mains.
• Once the hydraulic circuit has been completely filled with liquid, gradually open the delivery gate valve until its maximum opening.
• With the pump running, check the supply voltage at the motor terminals, which must not differ from the rated value by +/- 5%.
• With the unit at regular running speed, check that the current absorbed by the motor does not exceed the value on the data plate.
